A Tale as Old as Time.

But first, a quick backstory…

Growing up in the Bay Area, California, my childhood was intertwined with the wild world of competitive softball. Despite my love for the sport, it came with its challenges, particularly fast tracking an unhealthy relationship with food. Wins were celebrated with indulgent feasts of pizza and ice cream, while losses were met with drowning sorrows in pizza and ice cream. A tale as old as time.

I was the outlier, the fat kid on a team of girls blessed with genetically fast metabolisms. I’m a fast learner, so within every other aspect of my life, I quickly fostered emotional eating habits and a sick struggle with body image. However, amidst the weight and societal expectations, I learned how to use humor as a tool and developed a resilient personality that would eventually guide me through a transformative journey. So, jokes on you skinny bitches from high school! Jk, jk, not here to body shame anyone—we’re all human.

In 2010, just a doe-eyed freshman at the University of Oregon, seeking an easy class for credit, Yoga found me. That class was my gateway. What began as an easy way out of scholastic education, evolved into a powerful tool for self-discovery, teaching me lessons far more valuable than anything schooling ever taught me. I was hooked.

Without consciously realizing it, Yoga became a vehicle for self-acceptance and curiosity. It led me into the world of whole body health, seeing food as medicine, and taking control of my life-long struggle with weight and body image. I learned to grant myself permission to exist exactly as I was in each moment, embracing both the good and the challenging, and allowing my thoughts to simply be without judgment.

As a survivor of abuse, (that’s a good story for another time), I teach and coach through a trauma-informed lens, creating a safe space for you to be in your body, exactly as you are. Life will always be here to knock you down. I’m here to support you, and provide you with tools and skills to find strength and resilience in the face of adversity. Join me on the lifelong journey of self-empowerment and let your authenticity shine bright and free.
